Food Sale

The Spanish Choir is having a Food Sale after the Masses on Sunday, Dec 22nd.  Forget about making lunch on Sunday and pick up some really great tasting food.  Give yourself a break and also support the choir by picking up lots of food for lunch and maybe even dinner.  Remember it is Good Food and it will put you in a Good Mood.  So buy lots. .

Cookie Sale

The Ladies Auxiliary is holding a Cookie Sale this weekend after all the Masses.  They will be taking orders for Christmas.  This is a great chance to stock up on cookies for Christmas.  With all the cooking you have to do on that day, making dessert is just another thing to do.  Let the Ladies Auxiliary do dessert for you.  Buy a large assortment of cookies to serve as dessert on Christmas.  You will have one less thing to do that day and your guests will enjoy lots of homemade cookies.  they won't believe you had time to cook all those cookies. Support the Auxiliary - ORDER LOTS ! ! ! For more info call the office duirng normal office hours.

Gospel of John

On-Line Study - We are starting On-Line studies with Ascension Press.  The first one is by Dr. Edward Sri called Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John. We have 3 registrations for the study.  The study is 8 videos and you would have 2 months to complete the study.  Read More. .

Penance Service

ADVENT PENANCE SERVICE - Thursday, December 12th at 7:00 p.m. - As we prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas, we want to be ready to accept his love and be able to do whatever he asks of us. In order to do so, the Church encourages the parish community to come together to hear the Word of God and to pray in a formal liturgy called the Rite of Penance (Penance Service). Gathered together, we recognize our individual sinfulness and the harm it does to the whole community, and so, pray for one another as well as for ourselves and have the opportunity for private confession and absolution.

food-pantry

It is not an “option” to feed the hungry, but a mandate given to us by Jesus Christ (the first Corporal Work of Mercy). So as we prepare our grocery lists, let us remember that we should find some way to “feed the hungry” in our midst. St. Jude Catholic Community is blessed as our parishioners continue to respond to our requests to keep the St. Jude Food Pantry stocked with non-perishable food items. We are seeing an increase in the numbers of families requesting assistance.
