Donations Greatly Needed during this Global Pandemic

The St Jude Food Pantry continues to serve our local community with certain restrictions/requirements so all that remain safe and well.

To comply with health officials’ request of social distancing – keeping at least 6 feet of space between individuals, St. Jude has our food pantry guests stay in their vehicles and pull up in the circle in the front of church.  Our volunteers drop the food bags near the car door, pray a silent blessing, volunteers leave the area and the driver will be able to place the bags in his/her vehicle and leave promptly.  Compliance has been well organized and appreciated by our guests needing food.  All have been served at this time-no paperwork is required during this global pandemic... The food pantry serves the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 10am until 12 Noon.  This process will remain in place until further direction.

Non- perishable food items are needed:

Canned hams, chicken, tuna fish, salmon, stews, corned beef, chili - Healthy Cereal, Oatmeal and Grits - Bottled Juices - prefer sugar free - Canned fruit - Canned or boxed potatoes - Canned yams - Pancake mix and syrup - Bags of beans, rice, peas, lentils - Mac and cheese - any type of pasta and spaghetti sauce - Canned or boxed Soup, soup and more soup - Sugar free jello / pudding - Crackers - Peanut butter

Food is our priority - All nonperishable food items are greatly appreciated...if you have an extra cleaning supply, toothpaste, soap, paper goods also appreciated.

Even though the church doors are locked, please leave your donated food items near the front door.  The area will be checked frequently several times a day and food supplies stored in the church.

Peace Hope and Love to All. God Bless You!

At St. Jude Catholic Community we strive to serve those in need with respect, kindness and confidentiality. We provide non-perishable food items to share with our guests to temporarily help bridge the gap for those with financial difficulties.

Our generous parishioners, Knights of Columbus and visitors provide food donations as well as monetary donations.

Volunteers are needed! Responsibilities include restocking and organizing the shelves; have direct client interaction; getting groceries out to the vehicles of pantry clients and making sure everyone is welcomed with dignity and respect as our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Every Tuesday, at 9 am we sort and stock and check dates on the food items.  On the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month the food pantry is open from 10 am until 12 noon to serve our guests. Your gift of time and talent would be most appreciated. Please contact the parish office 352-347-0154 if you are available for even one hour!

Your donation(s) of non-perishable food items can be placed in the baskets in the foyer of the church.

May God bless you abundantly for expressing your love and care to those in need in our community.

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
And in the church God has appointed . . . those able to help others.
